Bi-Rite is a locally owned and operated grocery store and meat market in Stokesdale, NC. The store was opened in 1965 by Sam Talbert Sr. and a year later was taken over by his son, Sam Talbert Jr. who ran the business until 2004 when he sold the company to his nephew, David Wrenn. David came to Bi-Rite to “help out for awhile” in 1978 and he never left.
David has six children, all of whom have worked in the past or currently work at the store. Today he operates the business with the help of Charles Talbert (Sam III), Sandy Marshall, Matt Wrenn, Lisa Landreth, Jennifer Wrenn, Michael Johnson and around 35 other full time and part time employees.
Bi-Rite has been so blessed over the past few years by our many long-time and new customers that the opportunity for expansion has been able to take place. Coming Spring of 2021 Bi-Rite will move less than a 1/4 of a mile away from the current location to 8900 Ellisboro Road. We are looking forward to a new, bigger building so that we can keep providing an excellent variety of products and great deals on meat and other commodities!
